Te Hononga is the hapū forum established to progress Settlement aspirations for Ngāi Te Rangi hapū and whānau. Te Hononga is directly accountable to hapū and whānau of Ngāi Te Rangi, and is a separate committee to the TRONIT board.

Te Hononga was established in early 2009 and has met on a regular monthly and at times fortnightly basis since establishment. A strategic agreement was signed between Te Hononga and TRONIT outlining responsibilities of each party during the settlement process.
